Kim Reier

Kim is a highly accomplished leader with over 15 years of experience driving significant growth and innovation in the education sector, focused within the charter school landscape. As the Indiana Charter Innovation Center’s Vice President of Strategy, Kim is applying her extensive expertise in strategic planning, policy advocacy, and business development to advance the organization’s mission and impact.

About

Kim’s career is marked by a diverse range of leadership roles across key educational institutions. Before rejoining the education field, Kim served as Senior Strategist and Director of Client Accounts at Mapt Solutions, an Indiana-based strategy and innovation firm. In this role, she collaborated with senior leaders across various industries, developing customized strategies to help organizations navigate critical inflection points and achieve long-term growth. 

Kim’s return to the education sector marks a continuation of her deep commitment to fostering educational excellence and equity. Her previous roles include Chief Strategy Officer at Purdue Polytechnic High Schools and Director of Network Development & Advancement at Goodwill Education Initiatives. At Purdue, Kim was instrumental in crafting and executing multi-year strategic plans that not only aligned with the organization’s mission but also delivered measurable outcomes, including securing substantial funding and developing robust key performance indicators. At Goodwill, she was a driving force behind the national expansion of The Excel Center, successfully growing the network from four to over 30 schools nationwide. In addition to her work at Purdue and Goodwill, Kim has held key positions at the Indiana Department of Education and the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office of Education Innovation.

Throughout her career, Kim has demonstrated a unique ability to translate vision into action. She has launched and scaled numerous initiatives, expanded educational networks,  secured substantial grants and gifts for various organizations, and led advocacy efforts that resulted in the adoption of supportive laws in eight states. Her strategic leadership has also been pivotal in overseeing the approval and renewal of 28 schools across the country.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. When she isn’t playing chauffeur or attending her kids' activities, Kim is a DIY chef, an avid baker and cookie artist, and loves listening to audiobooks.
